Cameron is an emerging investment funds and financial services specialist with expertise in all stages of fund formation. Cameron thrives on grasping the needs of his clients to uncover practical business solutions.
With a background in funds management and financial services law, Cameron has experience advising fund managers and trustees on private equity, venture capital, private credit and property & real asset funds. Cameron provides guidance on the establishment of retail and wholesale domestic and international fund structures from licensing to establishment and the deployment of capital.
Cameron’s experience includes:
- Advising Whitmore Property on the establishment of the Whitmore Property LFR Property Fund, which sought to raise $150m to invest in large format retail properties in Australia;
- Advising Australasian Property Investments Limited (APIL) as its primary legal advisers, on the ongoing management and compliance of its 29 wholesale and retail commercial property funds;
- Advising a newly established investment manager on the simultaneous launch of three retail funds including a multi-asset balanced fund, multi-asset growth fund and A-REIT securities fund;
- Assisting the largest provider of voluntary Australian carbon credits in obtaining one of the first retail AFSL authorisations for ACCUs and EIEUs within the Australian market;
- Advising a large Australian trustee and fund manager on its licensing requirements in association with a 400+ billion AUM offshore investment firm;
- Advising a $76+ billion FUM Australian responsible entity on financial services law and regulation;
- Advising a leading Australian investment manager on the requirements to market an Australian fund within Singapore, the UAE and Cayman Islands; and
- Sitting on the compliance committee for 10+ Australian investment managers on a quarterly basis and providing regulatory advice on all aspects of financial services law on an ongoing basis.
