Navar’s recent funds management experience includes advising:
- Banner Asset Management on the establishment of the multi-class Banner Wholesale Real Estate Credit Fund, which sought to raise $200m to provide commercial mortgage loans in respect of Australian real estate assets.
- Venture Capital firm EVP on the establishment of their open-ended, evergreen ‘Opportunities Fund’, which sought to raise $100m to make growth stage investments in Australian and New Zealand software businesses.
- Whitmore Property on the establishment of the Whitmore Property LFR Property Fund, which sought to raise $150m to invest in large format retail properties in Australia.
- Australasian Property Investments Limited (APIL) as its primary legal advisers, on the ongoing management and compliance of its 29 wholesale and retail commercial property funds.
- Beams Projects (Fund Manager) and Polar 993 (Trustee) on the establishment of the 40 Rokeby Street Investment Trust, which provided mezzanine financing for the development of a premium office complex in Collingwood, Victoria.
- Marksx (Fund Manager) and MSC (Trustee) on the establishment of the International Media Fund No. 1, which will finance the production and development of international films.
Navar’s recent transactional experience includes advising:
- Symphony Infrastructure Partners on its $488 million Series-A financing round, enabling it to complete the acquisition of five new portfolio companies, establishing one of Australia’s leading independent energy infrastructure services platforms.
- Lighthouse Industries (a subsidiary of Symphony Infrastructure Partners) on its acquisition of the RJE Global Group, the Catalpa Group, Energy3 Limited and Clutch Consulting.
- Kelsian Group (ASX:KLS) on its US$325m (~A$487m) acquisition of All Aboard America! Holdings Inc. (AAAHI) and the associated A$281m capital raising.
- KeyInvest Ltd on its strategic acquisition of a 50% stake in Keystone Capital and the associated capital raising comprising its inaugural issue of APRA regulated hybrid securities (capital notes convertible into mutual capital instruments).
- Jazwares, LLC (a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway) on its acquisition of the Big Balloon toy distribution business.
- Various founders on the sale of majority and minority interests to Australian and international private equity firms.
- Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA), the peak industry body representing Australia’s mobile telecommunications industry, in relation to the closure of the 3G mobile network in Australia.
